Dressing sheds and 'conveniences' are situated near the sand dunes and the carpark can be seen in the distance. Aerial view of Port Noarlunga. The reef and jetty are visible. The Port Noarlunga Hotel can be seen on the corner of Gawler Street. The Institute building can also be seen. The Onkaparinga River is just out of view to the left of the photograph. Christies Beach and Hoseshoe Reef are out of view to the right of the photograph. The land to the left in the foreground looks like the flood plain of the Onkaparinga River.

The "Whip Well" was on the corner of Gawler Street and Witton Road, Port Noarlunga. The water was drawn by use of a primitive whip. The Port Noarlunga General Store can be seen in the background

Watercolour depiction of the jetty at Port Noarlunga. Signed 'J.H.A' in the left bottom corner, with the date '1855' in the bottom right corner, the painting is finely detailed and contains a wealth of information. The jetty extends from an escarpment, on top of which is a man with a horse and wagon; on the jetty itself are four men, a dog and a number of parcels and bundles at the end. Beyond the jetty is a ship at anchor (the ship has been identified as the 'Yatala' by shipping historian A.D. Edwardes), with a row boat and a small boat under sail nearby; a line of rocks is shown beyond the ship and two other vessels are depicted in the far distance. In the foreground are two men launching a small boat into the waves; another man is walking towards the escarpment with two dead birds in his hand and a rifle over his shoulder, with his dog running ahead; a ladder is also lying on the ground.

Port Noarlunga Hotel was opened in 1933. The licence was transferred from the Horseshoe Hotel at Noarlunga. The first proprietor was RV Naughton followed in 1934 by Ada V Naughton

[General description] View of Port Noarlunga with sea, beach and sand dunes. The remains of the first jetty can be seen in the centre . It was constructed in 1855, but was wrecked by storms during the early 1900s.

Port Noarlunga. According to a researcher, the home on the left side is "Milliari" the first guest house in Port Noarlunga. It was owned by F.C. Pocock and run by his wife Naomi (nee Goldsmith). The home still exists today as the bottle shop of the Hotel.
