Hi, I'm spanish near the Mediterranean sea and I don't speak english very well, sorry. I'm wikipedist of catalan or valentian wikipedia and the spanish wikipedia, and I feat with others wikipedias than english wikipedia, german wikipedia, etc.

Well, I want say that image: [Image:Eminem.jpg] it will be deleted. Where are fair use?

Because in this web page: [2], this image are free use and same in others webs.

If I'm not mistaken, the above user replaced a picture which appeared on the English wikipedia main page with a picture of a penis ([3])? Isn't it best if the user is blocked or at least? Hi there Cnyborg.

I'm chief engineer at DNAstream.tv (or ADNstream.tv for Spanish people).

I tried to upload a screenshot of our site to include it on the Wikipedia entry of the site, but you deleted it due to copyright violation. Don't worry about that :-)

What can I/we do to prove that there is no copyright violation? As you can read on the PDF you linked, there is no problem about distributing our image, logos or anything if the company allows that.

What can we do now to have the screenshot online again?

The best way to do it is to send a permission to OTRS. The copyright notice on the site states «El Sitio Web es una obra original y protegida por el Derecho de Propiedad Intelectual con todos los derechos reservados para ADNSTREAM, no permitiéndose la reproducción ni transmisión en forma alguna…» quite a long way from public domain. At this time, you can vouch for it, but in a few years you might no longer be active on Commons, so we need a lasting confirmation. I'll restore the image, and tag it with permission needed – as long as the permission is sent within a week it will be kept. Cnyborg 18:27, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

Magasinenes opphavsrett forhindrer all kopiering, enten det skjer med scanner eller kamera. Avledede verk som det du lastet opp er klare brudd på opphavsrettsvernet. Det var forøvrig ikke jeg som slettet dem, jeg merket dem og andre var enige i min bedømmelse. Cnyborg 21:39, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

I de fleste land (inkludert Norge) kan man gjøre det, så lenge det er klart at det er mannen som er hovedmotivet. I noen land er ikke engang det lov. Det vil si, man kan gjerne ta bildet til privat bruk, men ikke offentliggjøre det. Hvis det er klart at avisen er hovedmotivet gjelder avisens opphavsrettsvern; dette er det samme som for kunstverk. deprecated function in your monobook.js

Dear user, I noticed that you use the includePage function in your monobook.js page.

This function is now obsolete, as the importScript function was introduced with rev:35064 to the MediaWiki Javascript core library wikibits.js. It also keeps track of already imported files.

To allow us to remove includePage from Mediawiki:Common.js I'd kindly ask you to replace its use with importScript (same syntax!). Thanks! --Dschwen 17:03, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]

[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").
