Hey i was wondering if the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Taliban_insurgency_in_Afghanistan_(2015%E2%80%93present).svg is up to date, there seem to be some massive changes with 3 provincial capital. Map is quite a bit behind. https://www.nytimes.com/live/2021/08/08/world/afghanistan-live-updates

Thank you for providing images to Wikimedia Commons. Please keep in mind that images and other files on Commons must be under a free license and should be useful to the Wikimedia projects. To allow others to use your files, some additional information must be given on the description page. Most importantly:
  • Describe what it is about in a short sentence. (What does the image show?)
  • State the author and the date of creation. If you made it yourself, say so explicitly. If it is from another Wikimedia user, link to the person's local user page. Best to use CommonsHelper.
  • If you did not create the file yourself, state the source you got it from.
  • Add a copyright tag - images without an appropriate license tag will be deleted.
  • Add the image to one or more gallery pages and/or appropriate categories, so it can be found by others. To find out where an image belongs, you can use CommonsSense.

If you copied the file from another wiki, please copy all information given there and say who uploaded it to that wiki. Use CommonsHelper.

It is recommended to use Template:Information to put that information on the description page. Have a look at Template talk:Information for details of the use of this template.

You can edit the description page and change the text. Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file.

Please add as much information as possible. If there is not sufficient information, the file may have to be deleted. For more information, follow the Commons:First steps guide. If you need help or have questions, please ask at the Help desk.

Thank you.

There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. It has been found that you've added in the image's description only a Template that's not a license and although it provides useful information about the image, it's not a valid license. Could you please resolve this problem, adding the license in the image linked above? You can edit the description page and change the text. Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file. This page may give you more hints on which license to choose. Thank you.

File:Europa 12 kwietnia 1918.png has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Overview of Gun Laws by Nation

Hi, I recently discovered the map you made for this page and greatly appreciate your contributions. However, if at any point you further decide to fill in the map I suggest coloring both New Zealand and Australia in green. In comparison to some other countries which are considered shall-issue, they both fit that category, as you do not need to provide any evidence for your need to own a firearm, but instead simply have to request a Category A & B license and fill out the necessary documents, similar to countries such as Germany and Serbia, which are both classified in the category of shall-issue. I do hope to see more countries in the grey area to receive their respective classifications in the future. The2016 (talk) 09:24, 13 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

This map is based on wikipedia article (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Overview_of_gun_laws_by_nation - private citizens column) so it should be first changed there Borysk5 (talk) 09:31, 13 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Laws concerning gender identity-expression by country or territory.svg

The Australian state of Victoria just changed its law as of 1 May 2020 to allow a person to self declare their gender on their birth certificate. Hence it should be coloured purple now rather than pink. Thanks! Agent Win (talk) 04:05, 5 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Map of age of criminal responsibility

Hello,

you made and uploaded the map of the age for criminal responsibility here and now it needs to be updated: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/41/Criminal_age.svg. California should be dark red because the law as it was seen to be does not set a minimum age for criminal responsibility for the few crimes that do not require the age of 12 years. Many countries are falsely colored in comparison to the table and the information of the latter seems largely trustworthy but some information for the general age is missing and I'm not sure that all recent changes of legislation on this subject were included. HeliosX (talk) 18:12, 22 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I updated map to be consistent with wikipedia table and changed California. Borysk5 (talk) 10:10, 22 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hello,
thank you but San Marino, the regions of Scotland and the Faroe Islands, Egypt, Greece, Cape Verde, Singapore, Fiji, Palau, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu and Antigua and Barbuda still needed to be colored for the first time, from gray, or changed in color. Please review the entire United States, including uncolored Hawaii, according to this reference website about the age of criminal responsibility. The information on that site was last updated in January 2020. HeliosX (talk) 22:30, 21 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I changed US states to match with this map and also countries you mentioned (didnt know how to change Scotland because UK is one object in this file). Didnt change Singapore though because source clearly says the age is 7 and increase was only proposed. You should give a source for every change you make on wikipedia. Borysk5 (talk) 08:54, 22 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Please also change Singapore, the Faroe Islands and San Marino as I added sources for that by now. Can't the United Kingdom be split up on the map because the same was done for the United States? Please also extend the color area of Greece on the map to include all Greek islands that currently are missing. Why is Kosovo not part of the map if I can ask? HeliosX (talk) 18:12, 22 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I think I should be done now. You're welcome. In the future always remember to source contributions you make on wikipedia. Borysk5 (talk) 19:16, 22 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

asking for a favour

can you possibly vectorize and post my map onto the taliban insurgency file? thanks. https://ibb.co/hL9g0DJ BlookyNapsta (talk) 05:22, 14 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. I will do it today (Polish time). Borysk5 (talk) 09:59, 14 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Done. Uploaded this to map. Borysk5 (talk) 15:46, 14 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Map update

Hi, can you please update File:Incest legislation.svg?

The map currently has Ireland coloured red indicating "Up to life imprisonment", however, according to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legality_of_incest the penalty is "Up to 10 years in prison (male and female)". This is cited further down in the main text of the page as the law having been updated in 2019. Therefore, Ireland should be coloured orange to denote "Illegal (prison sentence)", instead of red. Gender identity map

Hi, I was wondering if you could please make a change/addition to File:Laws concerning gender identity-expression by country or territory.svg?

I'm not sure how to explain it exactly but when the map is clicked on once on the page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LGBT_social_movements#21st_century it shows what the purple, red and grey colours denote on the map, but not what the pink indicates. If a user then clicks on the more details tab in the bottom right-hand corner and goes to the Wikimedia Commons page it describes in the summary section under the map which colour means what. However, most users are only going to click on the image once and not understand what the pink represents but are given the other colours. So, can you please add what the pink indicates on the map in the short description under the image? Helper201 (talk) 19:50, 12 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I added color description to wikipedia page. Borysk5 (talk) 20:33, 12 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,

Given https://www.government.nl/topics/organ-tissue-donation/new-donor-act-active-donor-registration, I was trying to edit the organ donors map but I couldn't make any of it work correctly:

- text editor: change of colour do not show up on Wikipedia but do on my PC

- inkscape: warped image

I uploaded the text editor version but I am still not sure this will work out. Would you mind telling me how you did it with Inkscape I assume?

Seems like now this file is working. Yes, I edited this with Inkscape. The problem with second version was probably that you changed file size, you should "Resize page to drawing" if it's to small. Borysk5 (talk) 11:45, 6 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the insight. I also found out that Switzerland should be blue (see here). I made the change and added that link in the description of my image submit. Do you collect these kinds of source links somewhere? I don't know if it is an obvious question, it's the first time I do changes to Wikipedia :) Gabriben (talk) 22:24, 7 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, you can add source to wikipedia article on individual countries en:Organ_donation#Legislation_and_global_perspectives. Borysk5 (talk) 07:58, 8 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please update or delete the map

Thailand just liberalized its abortion law. 175.176.88.36 13:53, 31 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Can you please update the color for Germany from orange to purple? The stuff about it being legal if the animal isn’t forced is inaccurate. Thank you. —Delderd (talk) 18:26, 10 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Done. I think. Borysk5 (talk) 20:00, 10 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. :) Can you make the color purple instead of red for Germany, though? I believe it’s a fine not imprisonment. Delderd (talk) 16:14, 11 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Done. Borysk5 (talk) 16:34, 11 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

File:Legality of zoophilia by country or territory.svg

Since you seem to have been the last person to edit this, and seem also to have used a Wikipedia article as a source to do so in a previous edit, you should probably be aware that discussions on the English-language Wikipedia regarding the now deleted 'Legality of bestiality by country or territory' article there (now deleted, per AfD [1]) which seems most likely to have been the original source for its composition, came to the conclusion that the claims made in that article regarding legality or otherwise of bestiality in various legislations were dubious, and probably better described as partisan fiction in some cases. Given this, the English-language Wikipedia no longer uses the file, obviously, but I note that it does still to be in use in several other places. In my opinion, the best procedure would be to delete it entirely, as not only unsourced but grossly misleading, and entirely inappropriate anyway as a means of adequately summarising complex legislation on a controversial subject. I could, I suppose, simply propose it for deletion, as contrary to the stated purposes of Commons - which surely don't include misleading readers in such a manner - but before I do that, I'd be interested to see what you have to say. AndyTheGrump (talk) 20:59, 21 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@AndyTheGrump: Well, okay. If that's the case I don't oppose deletion. Borysk5 (talk) 05:38, 22 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
