DPLA uploads & NARA Record Group #21

Hello,

recently I have been sorting DPLA uploads of NARA records into their respective "Record Group" categories (subcats of Category:US National Archives Record Groups), so I can then better sort them into actual "content" categories. And one thing I noted was a lot of seemingly random selections of documents belonging to the "Records of District Courts of the United States" NARA category. This series is massive, and contains over 15,000 series with over 2,000,000 digitized files.

Unfortunaly, DPLA uploads of those files don't include the series ID (so I have to manually look it up always), they also aren't categorized into the series (which is very tendious to do manually, as mentioned there are 15,000 series existing). Further, the DPLA uploads of this category seem to be very random - If this category is uploaded, everything should be uploaded, and not some randomly selected files out of randomly selected cases.

I propose to use User:US National Archives bot to do a full bulk upload of this record category #21, as this should ensure that all files are there and in the correct categorisation tree. TheImaCow (talk) 22:10, 29 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
