Description
English: One of two carronade type naval cannons on display with the Civil War Memorial in Lubec, Maine. Carronades were short, smoothbore, cast iron naval cannons in use from the 1770s through the 1850s, Some saw use during the American Civil War (1861-65) as well. These were primarily used for short range anti-ship and anti-crew action.
