Summary

Description

The dolmen Moulin-Piau or Motte or Pierre Couveerte , Chemellier (Maine-et-Loire)

Located between the Small-Village and Motte.

The dolmen of Pierre Covered consists of 4 blocks, two on each side support the two stones above. The volume of stones is roughly equivalent.

Like other megaliths that time, it should be covered with a mound of earth and stones.

This dolmen was probably the tomb of an important person for eleven polished stone axes, including a flint were discovered inside.

Nearby, two cemeteries have also been updated to. One was filled with burnt bones, the other revealed pits carved in limestone, having the body shape. A little later a second one of the dolmen Pauvrière is half collapsed.
