Notes Also attributed to Gerrit Willemsz. Heda (1620-1702). The painter became famous as the creator of still lifes with luxurious objects - so called pronkstilleven. He had placed a flute goblet, a knocked over cup made of the sea snail nautilus, a glass bowl and silver cup. Furthermore, there is a lemmon, a cake and some nuts which used to be a favourite treat in the 17th century. All this is complemented by roses and a blue ribbon with a clock key - these symbols of vanitas are pointing to the limited time of all the life on earth.
