Description
English: The figure shows how different phase shifts (red line with dots) between two orthogonal and equally strong field components (X,Y) lead to different states of polarization: diagonal, left-hand elliptical polarization, left-hand circular, right-hand elliptical and right-hand circular.
Deutsch: Die Abbildung zeigt wie unterschiedliche Phasenverschiebungen (rote Linie) zwischen zwei orthogonalen und gleich starken Feldkomponenten (X,Y) zu unterschiedlichen Polarisationszuständen führen: diagonal, linksdrehend elliptisch, linksdrehend zirkular, rechtsdrehend elliptisch und rechtdrehend zirkular.
