English: La Bomba de Chota es un género musical muy popular en el Ecuador. En el siglo XVII, los Jesuitas introdujeron msivamente Africanos esclavizados a sus extensas plantaciones a un valle del norte del Ecuador conocido actualmente como Territorio Ancestral Afroecuatoriano del Valle del Chota – Cuenca del río Mira. Durante el periodo de la esclavitud este grupo de Afroecuatorianos creó un baile, género musical y tambor denominado ‘Bomba’ (también conocida como ‘Bomba del Chota’). Aún en la actualidad, la Bomba es parte esencial de la vida de muchos de los habitantes de cada una de las 38 comunidades de Chota-Mira, en la zona norte y nor-occidental de la provincia de Imbabura.
