English: Photographs show the effects of phytotoxicity assessment of filter backwashing waters, taken from swimming pool building (seasonal bath). The research was carried out to investigate the possibilities of use of irrigation for greening around the plant. The chlorine contained in the backwash water caused the formation of necrosis on the fronds of Lemna minor. The growth rate of fronds and the growth of plant biomass were also analyzed. The author seeks to improve the quality of waste water (eg lowering of free chlorine). The research is part of a project to reduce water consumption and drainage in swimming pools.The photos were taken with a Nikon Coolpix L120 camera, using an illuminated plate of its own. The research is conducted at the Faculty of Environmental Engineering and Energetics of Silesian University of Technology (Poland). |
