Summary
[edit]DescriptionMV.Liemba.jpg |
English: Mv.Liemba was the ship used as a military submarine by the Germans during World War I and was known then as Graf von Goetzen.
The Germans tied the navy with big guns to increase its capacity and it became a large armored ship on the lake. It was sunk into the lake by the Germans themselves after the war in 1916 but eight years later it was revived and renamed Liemba. Today it is one of the oldest ships in the world still serving Lake Tanganyika. It was developed in 1913 and is now estimated to be 106 years old as a major tourist attraction in Kigoma.
