Description
English: 1964 Routemaster bus RM1842 (reg. BFW 544B, ex 842 DYE), pictured in the Meadows, Edinburgh. It has been driven here from Glastonbury by campaigners on a protest drive, ahead of the 31st G8 summit in Gleneagles, gathering signatures in the process, for the Make Poverty History campaign (the camera meta-data appears wrong, this would have been 2 July 2005, not 2004). Despite the maroon colour of this picture, the bus was still very much a red London bus - see here for a clearer image. RM1842 was new to London Transport in February 1964, and saw service until withdrawal in 1987. It was then sold and at some point, reregistered BFW 544B. It was then converted for use as a mobile home, hence the fitted door.
