Description

Paeonia officinalis 'Rubra Plena' 5/2021 Peony- (Origin Unknown) (2-DB-RD) Peony, Mature size: 32", medium height, full double, deep crimson petals, large guard petals, carpels revealed w/age, eraly bloomer, USDA Hardiness Zone 3-8, Michigan Bloom Month 5, In Garden Bed N1,06,1 for 33 MONTHS (BloomingB). Planted in 2018.

Origin before 1907, but could date to the 17th century, Probably a peregrina x officinalis hybrid cultivar. Narrow notched inner petals. A ancient cultivar also known as the 'Memorial Day Peony' and 'Old Double Crimson'.
