English: Two Black Sea Rotational Force Marines prepare a Bangalore torpedo explosive as part of the breach to the counter-attack during the final portion of Exercise Summer Shield at Adazi Military Base, March 31, 2015. Latvian and U.S. Marine combat engineers laid obstacles in the initial phase of the ten-day multi-lateral exercise and ended it with a bang to allow for the counter-attack by the BSRF Combined Anti-Tank platoon. Exercise Summer Shield is a multi-lateral, joint command and control live-fire and maneuver event designed to maintain enduring partnerships and improve our collective defense. |
