Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Part of the former frontier between West- and East-Berlin at Railwaystation “Friedrichstrasse”. "Tränenpalast" means "tears palace", new extension.. After the revolution of 1989 and German reunification, the building was used as an event hall for concerts, parties, etc. In July 2006, the Palace of Tears was closed and then renovated. Here, the building was restored to the original state of 1962. Since September 2011, the former check-in hall of the border crossing point is used by the Bonn Haus der Geschichte der Bundesrepublik Deutschland as a branch office. With free entry there will be the permanent exhibition "GrenzErfahrungen. Everyday life of the German division" shown there.
