Object history | Die Buchenblätter stehen redend für den Ortsnamen und stellen zugleich die geografische Lage der Gemeinde im Hochspessart dar, ebenso der Wellenbalken, der die Lage der Gemeinde im Elsavatal versinnbildlicht. Das Zahnrad weist auf das in Höllhammer im 18. und 19. Jahrhundert betriebene Hammerwerk hin. Die Farben Silber und Rot erinnern an die einstige Zugehörigkeit zum Kurfürstentum Mainz, das bis 1803 die Landesherrschaft innehatte. Heimbuchenthal war ein kurmainzisches Amt, das im 18. Jahrhundert acht Orte umfasste und eine gewisse Selbstständigkeit erwarb. Als Gericht wird der Ort erstmals 1495 genannt. | ||||
