This template must be substituted using {{subst:use sub-categories}} instead of {{use sub-categories}}. Maintenance: Check for un-substituted usage.

When categorising files, please avoid placing them into several categories that are directly linked within the same tree (e.g. a parent category and a child category – like Category:United Kingdom and Category:London), to prevent over-categorization of files and over-population of categories. Usually, only the most specific category should be used. See Commons:Categories for more details. Thank you.

Localization

This template is localized through {{Autotranslate}}. The layout of the template can be found under Template:Use sub-categories/layout.

To add your language to the list of languages supported by this template, please copy the code of Template:Use sub-categories/en (or any other language version you prefer to translate) and replace the text strings in there (the form below can be used to create a translation, the English version is preloaded in the edit box). Please change the parameter lang from en (or whatever language you are translating) to the language code of your language.
