TMI poop pics - MSPI?

So my daughter is 7w tomorrow and something has just been off. She cries and screams in the evening and is particularly uncomfortable during her early morning wakeup & she cries/struggles to poop more often than not. I noticed some mucus in her poops and the most recent one today might have dark specks, but nothing that's obvious blood. Anyone have a little one with MSPI or similar poops?

  • Hi! You should bring it to the doctors office to get tested. My two older sons had microscopic blood in their stool/MSPI and their poops looked almost exactly like this.
  • This looks very common for a cows milk protein allergy/intolerance. My sons looked like this before he was diagnosed at 4 weeks

Thank you! I will get her an appt (if I can sooner than the 15th for her 2 month). There's a culmination of symptoms making me wonder... No obvious blood but not sure if the specks could indicate that or not.

Thank you... It's rough but I'm trying to make sure I'm not causing her discomfort & it seems likely to be the issue. Winning the bad luck lottery (again... I was dx'ed as glucose intolerant during pregnancy this time and was on the GD diet).
  • My baby is having the same problem, but I have not taken cow milk products since she was three weeks ,was given buscopan, telament and reuterina but I don't see a lot of improvements instead it just gets more watery,Please update on what the doctors recommend
  • My daughter’s looks similar. She’s formula fed

I'll see if I can get in! Her 2m appt is the 15th and I'm hoping to have answers before then!

I believe it can happen with formula too and the special hypoallergenic formulas are $$$. I'm EBF right now but I did supplement with my first daughter for a while due to other issues. Hopefully it's normal for your little one!
  • Did you get this resolved? I’ve been off of dairy and soy for over two weeks now, but haven’t seen much improvement in my son :(
