  • Momoftwocars that sounds like a good piece including car seat. Are you getting the carrycot? Someone else a few pages before you was quoted a bit less with no car seat. It's worth phoning a couple of stores though.
  • Hi there, just wondering if anyone can help just bought single BJCS as my wee girl is 2yrs and I was going to buy just car seat to add on. But it doesn't look like single seat will move down without adaptors to allow me to add car seat as well. have heard you can buy second seat adaptors brackets only but can only see them in usa.Anybody any ideas of where I can buy them ??????thanks pauline
  • You can't buy them separately in the UK at present unless some crop up on EBay. You could always import some?

  • I have seen some on what she buys.com and planet kids but not sure if they are the right thing as states two car seats for using with but have maxi cosi.does this mean I have to buy second seat to get adaptors as I don't really need 2nd seat.pauline
  • thats not including carrycot, dont think i would use it

  • Pauline, yes those are the adaptors you need. At present (unless someone knows otherwise - and I will ask BJ when I get chance - you can't buy just the adaptors without the second seat. Like I said you can either import just the adaptors or buy the second seat unit, keep the adaptors and sell just the seat unit on Ebay - people buy them wanting a change of colour.
  • Momoftwocars, I honestly don't know the going rates but based on what the other lady had ordered - she had a carrycot, you have the car seat, there is about £50 difference. Do phone round and check though.
  • Hi

Just to warn anyone that is about to buy a BJCS that there is a shortage of car seat adaptors in the country. I have been trying to get mine for 2 months and have rung as many nursery shops and big retailers that I can without success.

I was told that John Lewis had the monopoly on the stocks that came into the country but having had some on order for several weeks from them and loads of other places, finally a nice lady at John Lewis rang their buyinhg department who admitted there is a massive shortage/problem and they have no idea when the next lot are coming despite previously giving me dates.

One of my reasons for choosing the BJCS was to use it with the car seats initially and I didn't want the carrycots so just to warn anyone who wants to do it the same way as me just make sure you can get them first. Luckily the lady at John Lewis took pity on a desparate women about to give birth to twins at the end of her tether and has managed to source me 2 sets from a shop that she knew (obviously they are much more expensive!!!), although I will only believe it when I see them as I have had this happen before and then the wrong ones were sent that fitted on the other BJ makes.

I have paid for a courier to deliver them asap so I am hoping my BJ will be ready to go tomo yipee just in time

  • I hope they are the right ones for you. One of the issues I am discovering is that retailers want to sell the whole BJCS package, so you will find that retailers will have sets of adaptors but unless you buy a full package deal from them you won't be allowed to buy the, separately. One thing I am seeing with Baby Jogger is that you need to keep your ear to the ground. Shipments come in and stocks often run out before the next shipment arrives. So if you know when shipments are due, then you can get your name down for things. I know there is a shipment due in 15 days time of BJ carrycots for example, so you would hope other things are on the ship as well. John Lewis are good at taking orders that they can't fulfil. I was also told Next had no BJCMD stock left but yet you can order one online. Fingers crossed though that you get BJCS adaptors and not a different set.
  • Hi

Yes I know I have been constantly ringing round different places in case they have secret stocks that have come in and I think soon I will be inundated with car seat adaptors as a shipment suddenly comes in and gets shared out to all the places I have ordered from lol!!! I don't know where all these ships have gone though they never seem to arrive!!

When I ordered from John Lewis there online stock was out but they gave me loads of branches that had them so I had no reason to think there would be a problem but their stocks were all wrong. The trauma of a popular buggy!!

As you are the fountain of all BJ knowledge Jus I am sure it is on the other post somewhere but is there any sign of the buggy board yet or is everyone using the Lascal still?
