Abstract: Location selection for a freight village is extremely important since it has strong impacts on quality of life such as reduction of traffic congestion, reduction of carbon emission, and effective use of lands. The inclusion of such criteria in a location selection requires the fuzzy sets to be used in the decision making methodology. In this paper, we propose a novel integrated fuzzy decision model for the location selection of freight villages. In this integrated methodology, we use DEMATEL for determining the most effective criteria and their inner and outer dependencies; ANP for weighting the determined criteria; and TOPSIS for…finding the best location alternative. The proposed model is applied to a case study for the city of Istanbul in Turkey.

Abstract: Today energy demand in the world cannot be met based on the growing population of the countries. Exhaustible resources are not enough to supply this energy requirement. Furthermore, the pollution created by these sources is one of the most important issues for all living things. In this context, clean and sustainable energy alternatives need to be considered. In this study, a novel interval-valued neutrosophic (IVN) ELECTRE I method is conducted to select renewable energy alternative for a municipality. A new division operation and deneutrosophication method for interval-valued neutrosophic sets is proposed. A sensitivity analysis is also implemented to check the validity of the…proposed method. The obtained results and the sensitivity analysis demonstrate that the given decision in the application is robust. The results of the proposed method determine that the wind power plant is the best alternative and our proposed method’s decisions are consistent and reliable through the results of comparative and sensitivity analyses.

Abstract: Combinative Distance-based Assessment (CODAS) method aims at selecting the best alternative having the largest distance to the negative-ideal point based on the Euclidean distance as the primary and the Taxicab distance as the secondary measure. Uncertainty is generally an unavoidable issue in real life problems, which can be tackled by various approaches that may be stochastic or fuzzy. Neutrosophic sets theory is an ultimate extension of ordinary fuzzy sets and neutrosophic sets are the superset of intuitionistic fuzzy sets. This paper develops a novel interval-valued neutrosophic CODAS method and presents comparative analyses with crisp and ordinary fuzzy CODAS methods. Together…with comparative analyses, a sensitivity analysis is also given for the selection problem among wind energy plant locations.

Abstract: Neutrosphic sets define the uncertainty with three parameters, namely truthiness, indeterminacy and falsity. COmbinative Distance-based ASsessment (CODAS) method computes the Euclidean as the primary measure and Hamming distances as the secondary measure to assess alternatives based on predetermined criteria. In this paper, CODAS method is extended to its interval-valued neutrosophic CODAS version for handling the vagueness and impreciseness in human thoughts. A fuzzy inference system can be used as a decision making process of mapping from a given input to an output using fuzzy logic. The inputs of the used ordinary fuzzy Mamdani type inference system are crisp while the…rules are fuzzy. The applicability of the proposed methodology is illustrated through the assessment of livability index of urban districts. Sensitivity analysis demonstrates the robustness of the decision-making methodology.

Abstract: Nowadays, more companies are trying to implement blockchain technology (BT) that enables to increase the quality of the products/services to their supply chains in order to improve their performance. BT can be applied to different sectors according to their specific needs. Evaluation of BT with respect to sectors needs considering several factors and it can be considered as a multi criteria decision making (MCDM) problem. In this paper, the appropriateness of BT in Supply Chain Management (SCM) according to different sectors has been evaluated by using a MCDM methodology based on hesitant fuzzy sets (HFSs). The suggested MCDM methodology consists…of Delphi method, hesitant fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (HF-AHP) and Hesitant Fuzzy Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (HF-TOPSIS) methods. In the first stage, the criteria and sub-criteria utilized for performance evaluation of BT in supply chain management have been determined by using Delphi method. The weights of main and sub-criteria have been obtained through HF-AHP method and finally, the alternative sectors have been ranked according to results of HF-TOPSIS method. For this aim, a hierarchical MCDM problem that consists of 5 main and 17 sub-criteria has been created and the alternative sectors have been evaluated. As a result, medicine/drug and jewelry sectors have been respectively determined as the most and the least suitable alternatives in order to implement BT by means of the proposed HFSs based methodology. Finally, a sensitivity analysis has been conducted to show the importance of the main criteria weights on ranking of alternatives.

Abstract: Construction site selection is a complex problem involving many alternatives and conflicting criteria with vague and imprecise evaluations. Fuzzy multi-criteria decision-making methods are the most effective tools to obtain optimum solutions under possibilistic uncertainty. In this paper, a novel interval hesitant fuzzy CODAS method is proposed and applied to a residential construction site selection problem. A comparative analysis with ordinary fuzzy CODAS method is applied for validating the proposed method. Also, a sensitivity analysis is conducted for the stability of the ranking results of the interval hesitant fuzzy CODAS method. The results of the analyses demonstrate the effectiveness of our…proposed method.
