Firefighters rush to put out flames at Crewe hospital site

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service rushed to put out flames at the site of Crewe's hospital - making sure everyone was accounted for.

The incident inside a building of Leighton Hospital, Middlewich Road, happened at 7:46am on Friday 31 March.

One fire engine from Crewe and one from Nantwich quickly arrived at the scene - assessing the situation.

All people in the Leighton Hospital building were accounted for. No one was injured (Ryan Parker).

Firefighters used a hose reel jet and a dry powder extinguisher to put out the flames.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Crews were called to a small fire in a Commercial building in Leighton. 

"Breathing apparatus was worn and firefighters used a hose reel jet and a dry powder extinguisher to put out the fire.

One fire engine from Crewe and one from Nantwich quickly arrived at the scene - putting out the flames (Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service).

"All persons were accounted for. "
