Anonymous asked:

did you design Eliza on craig of the creek?

halfglovepunch answered:

I designed her final character model for the show - I think it was the 17th or 18th episode of Season 1.

Despite what most fans like to assume… I did not reference Rose Quartz for this character… I referenced my favorite Princess - Princess Peach! Honestly, I thought that was rather obvious…

When we broke down the storyboard for design purposes, the idea of color wasn’t really on anyones minds at the time - so I pitched the idea of making them all pastel colors. It’d help keep them feeling uniform but also feeling a little out of place compared to all the other creek kids who wore earthier tones. Plus, pink, blue and violet would look nice against all the green backgrounds we had! To try and help sell the idea to Ben and Matt, I painted these portraits to show how special they’d look!

Kid 25 - Progression

Kid 25 has been an incidental kid that has existed since the very first episode that was produced: You’re It. He was originally designed by Benjamin Anders but he became a passion project of Danny Hynes since his appearance in Dog Decider till the very end in the finale. He was a character that was starring in his own show in the background of Craig’s. Almost all of the above appeared in the series and the film! Though some might have been left on the cutting room floor.

Rise and Shine the first ep of the Craig of the Creek sleepover arc aired yesterday on CN! Should be out on MAX today. Here's a couple dump bgs I designed though I have to thank Cory for the establishing shot I based these off of. Extra thanks to Cory and our AD Martin for trusting me to paint a big garbage monster.
