I made this recipe tonight and it came out awful! I followed the recipe exactly and it was soupy and bland, I won’t make it again. I was so disappointed
Hi Kelly, We are sorry the recipe did not turn out right for you. Not sure why that happened, but sometimes things like that do happen usually due to the differences in Crock-Pots.
Made this last night just like the recipe calls. Little mushy if made with fresh chicken, so I wouldn’t make it with frozen due to the extra water. But it was still yummy, even to a picky 2 and 4 year old.
I made this today, it came out a mess! Was very mushy! My husband who will eat just about anything took one bite and refused the rest. Needless to say there is a frozen pizza in the oven, thank goodness for plan B!
How long did you cook it? what type of crock-pot did you use? Sorry it didnt turn out for you.
Wanted to know how much longer you should cook this if using frozen chicken. Thank you.
maybe an hour longer…not much though
I made this today (recipe altered) and it turned out pretty good.
The recipe’s flavors looked good in theory, so in spite of the negative comments, I made it anyway. I just added more stuffing mix to soak up extra fluid (especially because I used frozen chicken breasts). I just eyeballed it, and figured I could add more water later if needed. I did not need to add any more water. In fact, I could have gotten away with a little more stuffing I think.
Even our slightly picky 10 year old said he liked it, without any prompting from me. We thought it was good, just adjust the stuffing level to your preference.
I am glad you liked it. And most recipes are easy to adjust like you did based on individual needs.
I was wondering do you still add the seasoning pack that comes with the stuffing or do you leave it out?
Hi Patti, great question! You will want to add the seasoning pack that comes with your stuffing. In this recipe we used Stove Top brand stuffing mix and the seasoning is already pre-mixed with the bread cubes. But if your stuffing mix comes with a seasoning packet be sure to use that!
The one thing I did I made the stuffing on the stove and put the chicken, onions, celery, carrots, cream of chicken soup, chicken stock and sour cream in the crock-pot and served it with mashed potatoes. It makes a better dish.
That sounds tasty Fredrick!
Can you add mushrooms ? My husband loves mushrooms .
Hi Kelly, I don’t see a reason why the addition of mushrooms would change the recipe cooking time in any significant way. So yes, I would say you can add mushrooms for your mushroom loving husband!
This recipe wasn’t bad. I used the recommended ingredients and for the most part followed the recipe except for a couple of changes which improved the outcome. With the colder months in NY, I will be making this dish again. Thank you for sharing the recipe.
Thanks for the kind review Raymond. I am glad you liked the recipe and were able to adjust it to suit your tastes. Stay warm!
This recipe is simple and easy to make and it is sol delicious. My family loves it and has become a favorite.
Thank you for the kind review Colleen, I am so glad you and your family have really enjoyed this recipe!
We loved it made the stuffing on the stove and added. I’m going to try dry next time. We made rice to go with it. Me and my husband loved it.
I am so glad you enjoyed this recipe Tammy. Thanks for the lovely review!
I made this it was terrible. The chicken dried out in the bottom of the pan. The soup mixture was a gloppy mess. The sour cream overpowered everything. I’ve used your recipes before and they were great. This one went in the garbage. I double checked the recipe and direction. You need to increase the liquid and use milk instead of sour cream. Add mozzarella cheese on top.
Sorry this recipe didn’t turn out for you Judy.
I made this for the 1ST time a month ago, and it turned out amazing! My husband loved it, and I definitely will make it again! Thank you for such a great and easy recipe!
