Parents of Atlantic Community High School students received a voice message Monday morning from the school's principal letting them know a threat had been posted on Snapchat.

According to the Palm Beach County School District, Principal Tara Ocampo's message, the social media post warned students not to attend school Monday or the rest of the week. The threat was not deemed credible by school police officers. However, the principal said they are taking precautions.

"We do have extra security from Delray Police and school police on campus this day and throughout the week," said Ocampo.

The principal encourages anyone with information on who is responsible for the threat to contact school officials or Student Crime Stoppers at 1-800-458-TIPS.
