New and familiar faces accompany Tautai Moana on her next adventure inĀ Moana 2.
Dwayne Johnson’s charismatic demigod Maui returns to help her seek out an important island that connects all peoples in Oceania, and her parents encourage her to keep finding the path for their island community. New faces include Simea, Moni, Kele, Loto and more.

Moana (Auli’i Cravalho)
Image Credit: Disney Auli’I Cravalho returned to voice the titular wayfinding young woman in the sequel film. Cravalho first voiced Moana in the 2016 film, singling songs like “How Far I’ll Go” and more.
She has since appeared in films like Crush (2022) and the movie musical Mean Girls (2024) and shows like The Power, adapted from the best-selling book by Naomi Alderman.

Maui (Dwayne Johnson)
Image Credit: Disney Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson also returned to voice the demigod Maui in the sequel film. He first played the charismatic character in the 2016 film, singing the catchy “You’re Welcome.”
Dwayne Johnson will also appear as Maui in the live-action Moana directed by Thomas Kail. He recently appeared in Red One as an agent helping recover a kidnapped Santa Claus. He is also known for playing Black Adam in DC’s Black Adam (2022), Hank in Journey 2: The Mysterious Island (2012), Spencer in the Jumanji films and Hobbs in The Fast and the Furious films.

Image Credit: Disney Simea is Moana’s younger sister who eagerly awaits her return from wayfinding missions. Simea is not afraid to be sassy and honest, and she grounds or anchors Moana to Motunui.
This is Khaleesi Lambert-Tsuda’s first voice role.

Image Credit: Disney Chief Tui is Moana’s father, and while he disapproved of her going beyond the reef in the first film for her own safety, he now appreciates her courage and bravery as a wayfinder.
Temuera Morrison also voiced Tui in the first film, and he played Tom in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (2023) and Jake Heke in Once Were Warriors (1994). He can be seen as Ed in Far North and as Roy Lennon in Echo 3.
Sina is Moana’s mother, and she softens the hard lines of Chief Tui in understanding of her eldest daughter. Sina quietly showed her support for Moana in the first film by helping her pack for her voyage.
Nicole Scherzinger also voiced Sina in the first film, and she has appeared in Men in Black (2012), Annie Live! (2021) and more.

David Fane played Ace in Taika Waititi’s Next Goal Wins (2023) and Mr. Va’a in The Tattooist. He also played Fang in Our Flag Means Death. He appeared as Eric Eillisi in Eagle vs. Shark.
Moni is a scribe and scholar who keeps records for the island of Motunui. He knows all the history and where to find ancient scrolls and records.
HualÄlai Chung is known for appearances in Rescue: HI-Surf, NCIS: Hawaii and Mad Men.
Loto is a genius engineer who designs Moana’s wayfinding canoes. She knows all her physics and math and how to make improvements on the boats.
Rose Matafeo has appeared in episodes of Starstruck, Golden Boy and Funny Girls. She also played Rose in the TV mini series Temp.
