Warmest Beaches In Florida In February
Take A Break: Florida’s Warmest Beaches for a February Escape
Looking to escape the winter chill and soak up some sun? Below are the warmest beaches in Florida in February to help you plan your getaway.
Florida’s coastline offers a warm, fuzzy feeling even in February. The southern part of the Sunshine State has an average February temperature of 75-77 F during the day. Low temps about 62, but there have been days when temps have dipped below freezing.
The best thing about a winter vacation to Florida? The temps may be chilly one day, but back to normal the next.
The surf temp is generally 64-68. For us Floridians, that’s too cold, but if you are vacationing from somewhere with snow on the ground, this might just feel balmy!

Warmest Beaches In Florida In February For A Vacation
The Sunshine State’s warmest beaches, perfect for a weekend getaway, include:
1. Miami Beach
Miami Beach tops the list for its consistently warm weather in February. With temperatures often hovering in the mid-70s°F (around 24°C), this iconic destination offers a blend of vibrant culture, trendy nightlife, and sun-kissed shores.
From people-watching along South Beach to indulging in waterfront dining, Miami Beach is a hot spot for warm escapes. A top pick by many for a getaway.
2. Key West
Known for its tropical climate year-round, Key West boasts February temperatures in the high 70s°F (around 26°C). This charming island paradise offers a laid-back atmosphere, stunning sunsets at Mallory Square, and a myriad of water activities.
Enjoy snorkeling, fishing, or simply strolling along Duval Street’s lively bars and restaurants. Key West as well as the rest of the Florida Keys would be at the top of my list. Less crowded than Miami.
3. Fort Lauderdale
Fort Lauderdale enjoys balmy temperatures in the mid-70s°F (around 24°C) during February. Renowned for its beautiful beaches and the Venice-like Intracoastal Waterway, this city offers a mix of relaxation and entertainment.
Explore Las Olas Boulevard for shopping and dining, or lounge on the sands of Fort Lauderdale Beach Park. Be sure to visit nearby Hollywood Beach as well.
4. Naples Beach
With February temperatures often reaching the mid-70s°F (around 24°C), Naples Beach on Florida’s Gulf Coast is an inviting escape.
Enjoy the serene atmosphere, indulge in upscale dining at Third Street South, or simply relax on the powdery white sands and take in stunning turquoise Gulf views.
5. Sarasota Beach
Also on the Gulf Coast, Sarasota Beach offers mild February temperatures in the mid-70s°F (around 24°C). This destination offers a mix of culture, nature, and relaxation.
Visit the Ringling Museum of Art, explore the beautiful Marie Selby Botanical Gardens, or unwind on nearby Siesta Key Beach. Siesta Key ranks at the top of best beaches in the United States.
There are other fantastic options, but these are the top five I recommend for February. There are areas getting warmer, such as the Panhandle or St. Augustine. But the best options for a somewhat warm getaway, these top five would be the best choices.
A warm beach destination in Florida can give you a break from cabin fever and the winter blues. Relax in the sun and enjoy various outdoor activities such as kayaking, hiking or snorkeling.
Whether it’s Miami’s nightlife energy, Key West’s and the tropical charm of the Florida Keys, or the relaxed Gulf Coast vibes of Naples or Sarasota, these beaches promise a wonderful weekend getaway.
Pack your swimsuit and sunscreen, and head to Florida’s warmest beaches for a rejuvenating February escape!
