June is National Safety Month

At DeNova Detect, our priority is your safety. Here are some helpful natural gas safety tips to share with your family and community.

Signs of a Gas Leak

  • Rotten egg smell
  • Dying house plants
  • Bubbles in standing water
  • Visible damage to gas line or meter
  • Hissing noise around natural gas pipe, meter, or appliance

If You Suspect a Gas Leak

  • Evacuate your home or building to a safe area
  • Call 911 or your gas provider's 24-hour emergency line
  • DO NOT turn on/off electronics, appliances, lights, air conditioning, or ignition sources. Natural gas is highly flammable & can be ignited by heat, sparks, or flames.

IMPORTANT: Conduct regular maintenance on all your natural gas appliances. Doing so helps identify and prevent natural gas leaks before it’s too late.

Why Every Home Needs a Natural Gas Leak Detector

Natural gas is relatively safe, efficient, and convenient, but sometimes incidents happen. The best way to maintain your peace of mind and know if there is a leak in your home is with a natural gas detector.
