Take a tour of one of metro Detroit’s tastiest cities

View as Map
Indian, Nepali, and Tibetan cuisine are the specialties at the Himalayan Flames restaurant.
| The Himalayan Flames

It’s no secret that Dearborn, with its significant Arab American population, is metro Detroit’s epicenter when it comes to Middle Eastern cuisines and culture.

Look beyond those destinations, though, and there is so much more to feast upon in this city just west of Detroit. Budget-friendly chicken sandwiches and Turkish Delights, seafood-forward Middle Eastern entrees, and coastal Italian — it’s all here. From classic restaurant Al-Ameer to gas station halal burger stalwart Taystee’s Burgers serving up burger legends, below find Eater’s favorite Dearborn spots.

Moving off the map for this April 2025 update are Shatila Bakery and Galata Sweets, both of which are better suited for the Dearborn bakery map, as well as Haraz Coffee House and Qahwah House, which live on the Dearborn Arab American coffee shop map.

Miller’s goes by the honor system: Customers pay at the bar and tell the staff what they had. Online ordering is available.
