Serenity Bay Beach Cabana Review
On our latest Disney Cruise, we decided to rent a cabana on Serenity Bay Beach, the adult’s-only beach (18+) on Castaway Cay.
Here’s how this overall experience went from start to finish.
The day before your cabana rental, you’ll receive a cabana information packet as well as wristbands to help you get access to your cabana.
Once you disembark from the ship, just proceed to the tram stop and head to either the Family Beach or Serenity Bay.
In our case, we took the second tram to Serenity Bay.
There a cabana host greeted us and shuttled us via golf cart to Cabana 23 to give us a quick rundown of the cabana as well as the amenities we’ll receive with your rental.
The first thing you notice is how large and spacious it felt. Plus it was extremely clean and well kept.
There was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.
The outdoor patio portion included two cushioned lounge chairs and a chaise lounger.
Plus, there was even a hammock! As well as some floats and tubes.
There was also a private outdoor, freshwater shower and foot wash. To be honest, this was one of my favorite parts since you could wash off and even cool off without having to trek to the beach.
Inside the Cabana, there were some cool amenities. My favorite was, of course, the stocked fridge that included sodas, water, and cold face towels.
And there was even a basket of snacks such as chips and granola bars. (There was a lot more chips in here, but I was just a little hungry waiting for that BBQ lunch).
And if you needed more, you could press this button to have a cabana host come to you.
Plus, you also had storage that inlaced a safe and extra towels.
And more towels.
Plus there was a private changing area….
…as well as a sink with soap to wash your hands.
And when it’s time for lunch, you can either call your cabana host or take a free bike that’s included with your cabana rental.
Finally, when it’s time to head back to the ship after a relaxing day at Castaway Cay, your cabana host Cast Member will take you direct to the boat. No need for trams or anything. That was such a cool bonus perk after a long, hot day when you don’t feel like walking.
Overall, it was an awesome experience.
It was an amazing, comfortable, private retreat that was only steps from the beach.
And to be honest, I may have just ruined Castaway Cay for myself because I can no longer see myself going to Castaway without renting a cabana lol.
It was just a nice change of pace that I highly recommend everyone tries at least once.
Would I do it again?
Absolutely. It was great to check it off my cruise bucket list.
But I think I’m going to try the Family Beach Cabana because I saw that they even have a private section of the beach roped off that was huge and empty.
How much does a Castaway Cay Cabana cost?
Prices are seasonal but they are as followed for March thru September:
- Family Beach Cabana = $880 for 6 guests with a max of 10 guests
- Grand Family Beach Cabana = $1,238 for 10 guests with a max of 16 guests
- Serenity Bay Beach Cabana = $523 for 4 guests with a max of 10 guests
Plus to add an additional guest to a cabana, it costs $50 per guest.
How do you book a Castaway Cay Cabana?
Booking a cabana rental is a very easy process. The hardest part is that these tend to go extremely fast so timing is everything.
Once your booking window opens up, you can go on the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App or your online account and book a cabana.
Plus, if you’re a concierge guest, you get priority booking access which means you can snag one before most guests as long as you put the request through your dedicated concierge host via email.
Which Cabana should you book?
You can’t go wrong with any of the Family Beach Cabanas to be honest.
However, if you’re looking to rent one on Serenity Bay, then be sure to request Cabana 22 or Cabana 23 since they are the newest and biggest ones they have on Serenity Bay.
What’s not included in a Castaway Cay Cabana rental?
The biggest thing that isn’t included in a Castaway Cay cabana rental is alcohol.
And besides the few bags of chips (which you can get refilled as often as you like), there isn’t any other additional food.
You can get shuttled via golf cart to Cookies Too BBQ or Serenity Bay BBQ, but you can’t get the food delivered to your cabana which is a slight throwback (first world problems, I know).
But other than that, I really don’t think their is anything missing that’ll make your cabana experience any less pleasant and inconvenient.
They literally think of everything to make you feel comfortable.
Is it worth it?
Absolutely.

We have rented cabanas both on Serenity Bay Beach and the Family Beach. I definitely don’t remember a hand washing sink IN the cabana! Maybe this is new? Our last time was in 2019.

Ok so you said timing is EVERYTHING. I know this to be true from past boat trips with other cruises. WHEN does that window open to get a cabana booked on the app? The instant when you get on the ship ? When you get on the island? When. As you said it goes quick and timing is everything. Thanks in advance.

So you have to book it on the first day of your advance booking window. This depends on your Castaway Club membership level:
First time guests: 75 days prior to sail date
Silver: 90 days prior
Gold: 105 days prior
Concierge or Platinum: 120 days prior
Hope this helps!

I noticed the price was only from March through September, my family of four will be headed out that way in December, (1) do you have the prices for those time frame? (2) can you book on the serenity beach side with kids?
