Canada Geese, Ducks and Monarch Butterflies Are M.I.A.

Our wildlife is being decimated…biological life is being wiped out…

I live in a subdivision called Lakewood Forest in TX. They left all the trees when they built the houses - clearing only what was necessary to build them. So it is like living in a forest. It used to be insanely teaming with wildlife - all kinds of birds, squirrels, insects, racoons, possums - even armadillos - lots of dragon flies, butterflies and I only had a few hummingbirds this year. I used to have to watch where I stepped to avoid smashing a lizard…I rarely see them now.

I’ve been watching out my window while typing this and I haven’t seen one bird - and only one squirrel - when it used to be non-stop squirrel play cirque du soliel and bluebird and insect insanity. The animals and our wildlife are almost gone…even the insects that they need for food…gone.

A few months ago, a vulture landed in the backyard and took a drink by the pool and sat there for what seemed like forever. I took it as a sign. It’s was an eerie feeling.

I am grieving for all of us - for all the unimaginable trauma we have all endured, and continue to face, knowing that the sh!t has only begun to hit the fan…be still my heart.

We are all being wiped out and few even notice, and even more crushing, is that we are helpless to stop it…

Still no critters showing up…I’ve waited an hour, watching…still no sign of life…
