Often times DIY projects are even better than the pre-made product. That’s certainly the case with homemade bleach. While store-bought chlorine bleach can have negative effects on health, especially for children, this homemade bleach is non-toxic and perfect for green cleaning. You’ll find this DIY homemade bleach perfect for naturally removing stains, cleaning your tub and shower, and disinfecting countertops.
Why Vinegar?
Before we start making this amazing cleaner, it's important to know why we're using what we're using. So why vinegar? Vinegar helps to disinfect and break up stains.
Why Hydrogen Peroxide?
Hydrogen peroxide naturally whitens and disinfects.
Why Lemon Juice?
Lemon juice adds to the whitening power of this DIY bleach and adds a fresh scent.
Step 1
Mix the hydrogen peroxide, vinegar, and lemon juice together with the water in a spray bottle. Then incorporate your favorite essential oils. For long-term storage, keep in a non-clear bottle. If your spray bottle is clear, simply spray paint it to keep the light out.
And that's it! Not only is making DIY bleach super easy, it also offers piece of mind as a non-toxic cleaner. Want to make more of your own green cleaning supplies? Learn how to make dishwasher detergent or see how you can incorporate essential oils into DIY cleaning products to customize scents.
