            Abstract

The research investigates the relationship between artists, technology, and their audience. It documents their evolving creative practice as they engage with emerging technologies and where they use these as tools for access, exchange and deep engagement. The benefits and challenges of using immersive technology are explored. This includes user interface / experience, interoperability and standardisation. Methods of collaboration across a range of cultures of user-communities are explored. How do artists engage with some of these ethical questions as they use digital technologies and the capture of data? Our interviewees include artists, art professionals from galleries, museums and online virtual spaces. Interviewees were approached to include different technical, professional and social backgrounds.
