Description

"Tyrol's cultural heritage documents are spread across different regions in Austria and northern Italy. Despite the efforts of the last two decades, digitization of all relevant historical documents is far from over. In addition to the need to guarantee the long-term preservation of historical documents, more can be done to increase their visibility and use for educational purposes, and to raise public awareness of these collections. The Zeit.shift project aims at contributing to these two desiderata in relation to historical newspaper data by fostering open procedures and open access in three distinct but interconnected dimensions: (1) openness in collaboration and knowledge sharing, (2) openness of data and tools, and (3) openness in education and participation."
