Halloween Drink Dispenser

I was in the grocery store the other day and saw a super cute Halloween drink dispenser.  I didn’t want to spend the twenty plus dollars to buy it but I knew I could make my own in about five minutes with supplies that I already had at home.  The best kind of project, right?  And it’s a great accessory for a Halloween party, a pumpkin carving party, or just a quick celebration before a night of trick or treating!

To make this drink dispenser, I dug out a clear dispenser that I already owned along with black vinyl and my cutting machine.  The great thing about this project is once Halloween is over, I’ll peel the vinyl right off and have my old drink dispenser back.

I used my cutting machine and a downloaded image to create the poison graphic, adding text to the top of the skull.  I applied it with transfer paper, sticking it right over the embossed printing on the dispenser.  The embossing makes the vinyl stick out a bit but it’s only obvious up close.

I filled the dispenser with bright yellow soda so that it would look like a potion or poison, hung a little garland made from vintage-style treat bags …

… and filled more treat bags with simple snacks then stuck them in a galvanized bucket.

It’s such a simple set-up but my kids thought it was so much fun …

We’ll have a lot of fun using this Halloween drink dispenser this month … and I’ll keep loving the fact that I made it without spending a cent!

Love the vintage garland. Would you share where you found the bags?

This won’t help you, I’m afraid … I got them at Goodwill. 🙁
