I collaborated with Top Golf to host a golf birthday party but all thoughts and opinions are my own.
My twins just celebrated their twelfth birthday and Lila decided she wanted to have a golf birthday party with her friends at Top Golf! She went to a party there a few months ago and loved it so much that it went to the top of her list for her own birthday. The party was a big success and we loved every minute!
Hosting a party at Top Golf was perfect. It had all the benefits of hosting a party at a location away from home {no big messes before or after} but we had our own private bay so it felt secluded and personal. It was really easy to shut out everyone else that was golfing that day.
I have lots of adult friends that go to Top Golf regularly but, until recently, I didn’t realize how kid-friendly it was as well. The edge is covered by a hammock {so no kiddos are falling over the side} and there are lots of opportunities to score even for those that can’t hit very far {ahem, our entire party}.
And the facility is comfortable in all kinds of weather. We were there on a pretty windy day but the area is covered overhead and there are heaters to warm it up. It would actually be a great winter activity when you need to get the kids out of the house.
While I love the ease of hosting a party at an event location, I also love to add a few creative details to customize our parties.
For Lila’s party, we chose a lime green color scheme then created a few items and took them with us to the party. I made a centerpiece with a container filled with faux grass and balloons …
… with a flag {meant to look like the flags that mark where the holes are on a golf course} marking her age.
We also brought simple golf tee goodie bags {click the link to see the detailed tutorial} …
… and cupcakes with golf tee cupcake toppers {click the link to see the tutorial}.
The decorations, cupcakes, and goodie bags were all easy to transport and set up at the party but they added a festive element and gave Lila’s party a personal tone.
The girls played golf, had fun competitions with each other, and never grew tired of it … in fact, I think they could have kept playing for a couple more hours.
We had a lot of laughs over some of the crazy hits they made …
… and since no skill or experience was needed, they all had a great time!
They took a break only to chow down on flatbread pizza {it was delicious!}, chips, salsa, and guacamole …
… and soda.
The cupcakes were a sweet touch at the end …
… and the whole party was a great celebration of Lila and time that she loved.
We had such a great time at our Top Golf party and can’t wait to go back to play again. Have you been to Top Golf?

A golf party sounds like a fun idea for a kids party!. I like that Top Golf is a change up from the usual kid party venues, and I’m sure the kids do, too! Thank you for linking up at the #HomeMattersParty this week.
