Helping all students explore, advance, and succeed with the technical skills of the future
Learning digital skills and computer science helps students thrive in a rapidly changing world. It's our goal to make sure everyone has access to the collaborative, coding, and technical skills that can unlock opportunities in the classroom and beyond.

Computer science opens up possibilities for every student
Educators give their students confidence in computer science (CS), advance their computational thinking skills, and prepare them for the future.
- We're invested in making education more equitable for students in all communities. Our products and programs aim to address disparities in CS education, especially for students from historically underrepresented communities, and to help equip teachers with computer science resources to prepare their students for their futures.
Google has committed over $263 million to closing computing education equity gaps.
- We work alongside communities to close CS education equity gaps, supporting innovative organizations like Scratch, The Hidden Genius Project and CodePath to help all students learn computer science and digital skills, working toward tech-based careers.
Mildred Johnson
As a fifth-grade science and social studies teacher at North Salisbury Elementary School in Salisbury, Maryland, Mildred uses Google’s free computer science curriculum, CS First, to empower her students to create and share engaging class projects.
What teachers are saying
Coding can be very intimidating for anybody, but I am passionate about bringing computer science to all of our students. So I love the fact that Google’s CS First provides those simple entry points for students and for teachers.
Patricia Brown, District Director of Technology, Ladue School District (MO)
If it weren't for CS First, our small, rural school wouldn't be leading the way in introducing students to computer science in Nebraska. CS First makes it easy to expose our students and community to the infinite opportunities created by computer science.
Kyleigh Lewis, Business and Technology teacher, Dorchester Public School (NE)
It’s so important to give students access to subjects like computer science. The skills they gain when learning how to code will help them in whatever they pursue. They’re problem solving, they’re thinking creatively, they’re collaborating.
Sandra Naranjo, Digital Learning Coach, Lynwood Unified School District (CA)
Organizations we support
To expand computer science education and help students, especially those in marginalized communities, develop future skills, we partner directly with innovative organizations and support non-profits through Google.org funding.

Making digital skills training accessible to communities across the U.S.
The job market is changing, and employers are looking for skills that many students aren’t yet confident in.
By 2030, 9 out of 10 jobs will require digital skills. We believe that every student in every school deserves to have access to the tools and skills that will set them up for success in the job market of today--and tomorrow. We’re making digital skills resources accessible to more teachers, so students can develop job-ready skills to jump-start careers in fast-growing fields.
What Teachers are saying
To be a digital citizen, you need to use your digital skills safely, responsibly and productively. We want to build digital leaders who will use their digital skills for the benefit of the community.
Du Bui, Digital Learning Specialist, Ogden City School District, (UT)
Students have the ability to work at their own pace and personalize the lessons to topics of their interest. In Applied Digital Skills, the skills taught are what students can actually use for the rest of their lives.
Charlette Walker, Digital Literacy Teacher, Tilden Middle School (PA)
The consistent feedback between peers is such a vital benefit. This teaches them to work together not just as a class, but as a community.
Amanda Alford, 7th grade science teacher, Switzerland County School Corporation (IN)
