Since December 2023 this emoji has been used to reference the social media platform <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bluesky">Bluesky</a>, due to the platform&#39;s logo being a blue butterfly.&nbsp;

Samsung&rsquo;s butterfly <a href="/pt/samsung/experience-9.0/borboleta/">previously</a> resembled a monarch.

Borboleta

A bug, or insect, generally depicted as a caterpillar, which becomes a <a href="/pt/borboleta/">🦋 Butterfly</a>. Shown in full profile facing left, inching&nbsp;up on the back&nbsp;of its green, segmented, and&nbsp;textured body. Often featuring&nbsp;black stripes or yellow dots and tentacles on its head.

May be used to represent various insects, worms, and related animals. May also be used for&nbsp;metaphorical senses of bug.

Twitter&rsquo;s bug is purple. Apple&rsquo;s bug is hairy with a red head and legs and black stripes on its body. Facebook&rsquo;s&nbsp;bug also has a yellowish-orange head. <a href="/pt/google/android-7.0/inseto/">Google</a> and <a href="/pt/microsoft/windows-10/inseto/">Microsoft&rsquo;s</a> bugs previously resembled an orange centipede or millipede, and <a href="/pt/samsung/experience-9.0/inseto/">Samsung&rsquo;s</a> had a cartoon-styled face with a purple nose.

Inseto

An ant, a small, industrious insect that lives in a colony. Depicted as a black or red ant in full profile on its six legs facing left, with a prominent abdomen and <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antenna_(biology)">antennae</a>.

Formiga

A honey bee, a busy, flying insect that lives in a hive and makes <a href="/pt/pote-de-mel/">honey</a>. Depicted as a black-and-yellow bee with clear or white wings and a stinger.&nbsp;Variously facing left in full profile or shown from above.

May be used to represent various types of bees (e.g., bumblebee) and wasps (e.g., hornets, yellow jackets). May also be used to accent black-and-yellow colors or patterns. Abelha

May be used a symbol of good luck.

A cricket, a hopping insect that makes a chirping sound. Depicted as a brown or green cricket in full profile on its six legs facing left, with long <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antenna_(biology)">antennae</a> and large, bent back legs.

May resemble or be used to represent a grasshopper&nbsp;(including locusts)&nbsp;and other <a href="/pt/inseto/">bugs</a>. May also be used to represent metaphorical <a href="https://www.merriam-webster.com/words-at-play/words-were-watching-crickets-silence">crickets</a>, or &quot;silence,&quot; as of a disapproving or uninterested audience.

Grilo

A brown cockroach shown with antennae, six legs, and two sensory pads at its rear called cerci.

Can be used to talk about cockroaches or insects in general. May also be used metaphorically as an insult to call a person a pest, an annoyance, or to suggest they are subhuman. &nbsp;&nbsp;

Barata

A spider, an eight-legged <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arachnid">arachnid</a> that spins a web. Depicted as a common black spider, as a <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_house_spider">house&nbsp;spider</a>&nbsp;or <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Australian_funnel-web_spider">funnel-web spider</a>, often shown from above with its large abdomen oriented at the bottom.
