The [[Eastern Bengal Railway]] constructed a 1,676&nbsp;mm (5&nbsp;ft 6 in) wide [[5 ft 6 in gauge railway|Broad Gauge Railway]] from [[Sealdah railway station|Sealdah]] to [[Baruipur]] in 1882. The Jaynagar Majilpur line was constructed by Eastern Bengal Railway in 1882. The platform is very much well sheltered. The station possesses many facilities including water and sanitation. It is well connected to the [[National Highway 12 (India)|NH-12]].
