Shipachyov has played for the Russian national team in the World Championships and World Cup of Hockey. He was the top scorer of the [[2016 IIHF World Championship]] in which Russia won the bronze medal. He won a gold medal as a member of the [[Olympic Athletes from Russia at the 2018 Winter Olympics|Olympic Athletes from Russia]] team at the [[2018 Winter Olympics]].
