I don't think the previous image in the [[Light-emitting diode|LED article]] is significantly clearer than the new one I added in [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Light-emitting_diode&diff=prev&oldid=1178337787 this edit]. The previous one is too dark and you can't actually see the structure of the LEDs clearly enough, as it only shows the cases glowing.
I'm thinking about an image that:
* Shows LEDs in a few different colors or variants
* Shows the structure of LEDs somewhat visibly
* Without being too dark like in the previous image and without too much distracting light in the background

The one you've chosen ([[:File:3 color LEDs.jpg]]) is decent but lacks sharpness; I'll leave it as is for now. There are other photos that show diode structure, but not lit diodes. Perhaps there's a CC-licenced image to be found on Flickr or some other photo sharing website.
