Recently, you have PROD'd some files with an argument that they didn't need to be kept "local"as there were similar or identical images on the Commons. While I believe this is a valid justification, I and other admins are now deleting these files 7 days later and I can't help but notice that these local files were not replaced by the images on the Commons. For example, several of the files are/were on [[Butler matrix]]Y but they were not substituted with files from the Commons so the images are just gone and not replaced. Can you take care of this for all of the files deleted for being local that you tagged for Proposed deletion? You can replace the images when you tag the files, not only after thy have been deleted. I have searched [[Special:Contributions/Liz|Liz's contributions]] and reverted 17 edits, but Spinningspark uploaded 613 images, some of which are used in more than one article. Is there any means of verifying that references to these images have not been removed (by users other than Liz)? This seems to be just the sort of difficulty that made Spinningspark [[User:Spinningspark/Why I don't upload to Commons|reluctant to use Commons]] in the first place. As I come down hard on URL copyright infringement, if there is a problem about copyright I believe the file should be removed. I've given information as best as I am able from my song registration page, while not knowing much about what necessary information is correct for such files types for Wikipedia. The song is my own and Trussells, and we both give permission for its inclusion, but I know this means little unless the thing is done properly. You contacted me about helping with some copyright questions. As is true with most image copyright questions, the average Wikipedia contributor could not possibly know the publication history, name of creator, death date of creator, etc., of photos he or she uploads, and can only go with the apparent date of the photos and the substance of the relevant public domain tag that Wikipedia has available. PD-Italy applies to the photos you are asking about because they were created in Italy prior to 1976, per the PD-Italy tag. That tag also says, though, that PD-Italy photos on en.wikipedia may not be transferrable to Commons, because they may not be in the public domain outside of Italy and the United States and therefore cannot be listed as such on Commons. (Which is why I never put anything on Commons, because knowing what can and cannot be there is far too complicated and the necessary evidence is virtually impossible to discover.) I think that some of the photos you transferred to Commons should not have been and need to left on en.wikipedia to keep the photo police from squawking about them and to keep them available on en.wikipedia as I intended.

Dear MGA73, thank you for commenting on this file and making the licence modification in the text. Really appreciated, because I couldn't see how to do this. One minor question please. Not quite sure what to do regarding the big red box saying 'This file has been listed on Wikipedia:Possibly unfree files because the information on its source or copyright status is disputed.' as it looks as the discussion has resolved this so that it is no longer a problem. :It is always best not to remove a tag yourself. The reason I did not move it to Commons myself was that I was not using my own computer. Someone has now moved it to Commons and I deleted the local file so everything should be ok.
