From what I've gathered online, both R and RUT were reporting marks for the Rutland. Seems that R was used earlier on and then superseded by RUT. Vermont Railway presently owns the Rutland reporting mark, listed as RUT. [https://www.railserve.com/aar_railroad_reporting_marks.html] |
