: Lots of different ways, but generally by attaching to tissue (sometimes under the skin, in the gut or the bloodstream) and getting the nutrients they need to survive from the host. Ones that live inside bodies are called [[endoparasite]]s. An example is [[hookworm]], which live in the [[small intestine ]] and suck blood to survive.
