Chris Hann was elected a member of the [[Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities|Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences]] in 2008. In 1991 he was awarded the [[Curl Essay Prize]] and in 2015 the [[Rivers Memorial Medal]] – both by the [[Royal Anthropological Institute of Great Britain and Ireland|Royal Anthropological Institute]] (London).
