2024 Copa del Rey final

The 2024 Copa del Rey final is the upcoming football match to decide the winner of the 2023–24 Copa del Rey, the 122st edition of Spain's primary football cup (including two seasons where two rival editions were played). The match is to be played on 6 April 2024 at La Cartuja in Seville between Athletic Bilbao and Mallorca.[1]

Mallorca are featuring in their first final since their only victory in 2003, having lost twice prior.[2] Athletic Bilbao last appeared in the final in 2021, and its last victory was in 1984.[3][4] It is the 40th final for the Bilbao side.[5][note 1]

Match rules

  • 90 minutes.
  • 30 minutes of extra time if necessary.
  • Penalty shoot-out if scores still level.
  • Eleven named substitutes.
  • Maximum of five substitutions, with a sixth allowed in extra time.[note 2]

  1. ^ Athletic Club's own records also include a win in the 1902 Copa de la Coronación final and a defeat in the 1907 Copa del Rey final in which the participating team was Club Vizcaya, a combination of players from Athletic and other local teams (Bilbao Football Club and Unión Vizcaino, respectively).
  2. ^ Each team is given only three opportunities to make substitutions, with a fourth opportunity in extra time, excluding substitutions made at half-time, before the start of extra time and at half-time in extra time.
