- In addition to bone-deep burn scars on my left hand I now also have C7 radiculopathy, so my typing is particularly erratic right now. I have a spellcheck plugin but it can't handle larger text blocks. You're welcome to fix spelling errors without pinging me, but please don't change British to American spelling or indeed vice-versa.

God Jul och Gott Nytt År!
Gråbergs Gråa Sång is wishing you the season's greetings.
Whether you celebrate your hemisphere's solstice or Christmas,
Diwali, Hogmanay, Hanukkah, Lenaia, Festivus,
or the Saturnalia,
this is a special time of year for (almost) everyone.
JzG! Are you still out there?
Hi JzG! I was going through some old ArbCom cases and ran into one where you had added some statements. I realized that I haven't spoken to you in quite some time, and I see that you haven't made any edits since May... That sucks! I don't want to see someone like you go! If anything, I hope that you're doing well and that you're happy and that you'll someday return here. I just wanted to leave you a message and let you know that I was thinking about you... Keep in touch. :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 23:05, 9 January 2022 (UTC)
- I hope it goes without saying, despite the fact that I'm saying it, that many of us feel the same way. Happy new year Girth Summit (blether) 23:13, 9 January 2022 (UTC)
- We didn't cross paths very often lately, JzG, but we could really use you back. If you get the urge to return, please say "Yes!" Liz Read! Talk! 01:14, 15 January 2022 (UTC)

- Lovely to hear from you! I have spent the past two-and-a-bit years working at incredibly high stress for a hospital. In that time I have retired around 80% of their legacy application and server estate, instituted architectural guidelines and piloted the process for demand review, reduced the measured risk burden by around 80%, instituted objective risk monitoring using Tenable, and I've just proposed (and had accepted) a plan to remediate or mitigate most of the rest. I have, in short, been busy in that there real life of which you read, and that really wasn't going to fit in with having to be nice to people who sincerely believe that Ashlii Babbit was the real victim of the "legitimate political discourse" on Jan 6 2020.
- I have a week's leave. I have 28 days to take before year end, having managed I think three days off this year so far (including weekends). And because I have an offshore team and an onshore customer, my working day can be 8am to 3am.
- I thought I'd drop in :-) Guy (help! - typo?) 18:44, 26 October 2022 (UTC)
- Yikes, sounds like, umm..., a lot of responsibility. There will be plenty for you to do here when you are free! Johnuniq (talk) 22:50, 26 October 2022 (UTC)

- If Guy doesn't look at Talk:Alexander technique real soon now, where Eddy is being accused of plagiarism, I may be forced to contact him on bookfarce. That would mean giving Guy my real name. He always forgets me. - Roxy the dog 16:00, 27 October 2022 (UTC)
- I try never to remember people's RW names unless they are "out" on Wikipedia. Even when they out themselves, this has led to huge problems, e.g. with a user whose identity was revealed by accident off-wiki, showing him to be the source of fact-washing his own side in Wikipedia disputes via a journalist. That ended badly for everyone. Guy (help! - typo?) 16:16, 27 October 2022 (UTC)

New legal article
I have finished enough of Consciousness of guilt (legal) to go public with it. Further development will be appreciated. -- Valjean (talk) (PING me) 18:39, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
- Ooh, nice! Guy (help! - typo?) 23:13, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
I have thrown in the towel after all the nastiness. Unfortunately, this sets a bad precedent, as now AGF and NPA are openly allowed. The actual content and sourcing are ignored. An editor's personal political opinions are being used against them, which is a clear PA:
"Using someone's political affiliations as an ad hominem means of dismissing or discrediting their views, such as accusing them of being left-wing or right-wing, is also forbidden. Editors are allowed to have personal political POV, as long as it does not negatively affect their editing and discussions."
No one has shut down the attacks, hatted the thread, and issued warnings. I don't recall having any problems with Chris Troutman before, but he's a nasty one.
Imagine threats to AFD an article because of one well-sourced mention of Trump. No other reason! One short mention makes it an ATTACK PAGE????
"Although none of the wikilawyering, personal attacks, assumptions of bad faith, or lack of a consensus to exclude are convincing, in the interests of calming the waters, I'm removing the mention of Trump. The Trump exception rule prevails, yet again. Continuation of this thread is unlikely to shed more light, only heat, and that's not good." -- Valjean (talk) (PING me) 18:30, 4 April 2024 (UTC)

Requesting a reduction in page protection
On 30 November 2019, you salted the page Christine Weston Chandler. I cannot find the discussion behind this, but I imagine it was due to WP:BLP concerns, since at the time, there were little-to-no secondary sources aboout Chris and most information about her was known through invasion of her privacy. But nowadays, Chris has been referenced in mainstream media, had major national news networks cover her arrest, had a book from a major publisher written about her, had people make an entire wiki and multi-hour documentaries about her, and become arguably the most documented person in history. Here are some high-quality articles attesting to her notability:
- KVIA, People articles on the recent incest charges (amongst others)
- Gaming the Dynamics of Online Harassment, by Kevin Veale (Palgrave-Macmillan, 2020)
- Event Horizon: Sexuality, Politics, Online Culture, and the Limits of Capitalism, Bonni Rambatan and Jacob Johanssen, (Zero Books, 2021)
- Vaughn, Victor. "Deposition, Conjecture, and the Word of Nod." (2015).
In previous talk pages, the concern was raised that this page could be used for harrassment. However, it could simply be protected to WP:ECP, or a non-attacking page created and then permanently locked. The intention of this is not to harrass Chris, but simply to fill an odd gap in Wikipedia's coverage of people, since Chris is currently by far the most notable person without a Wikipedia page. Additionally, Chris herself has stated several times that she wants to have a Wikipedia page. So, in conclusion, I believe pages relating to Chris Chan should be un-salted.I💖平沢唯 (talk) 00:16, 7 April 2024 (UTC)
- I am no longer an admin, and you'll have an uphill struggle here because of her history with the utterly toxic KiwiFarms. The inclusion of the incest allegation makes it sound like the usual WP:COATRACK that we've seen from them before. Guy (help! - typo?) 15:22, 7 April 2024 (UTC)
- @ILoveHirasawaYui: It is incredibly unlikely that anyone will be permitted to write anything about that topic at Wikipedia. People pushing the topic are likely to be blocked. The reason for that should be self-evident. Anyone having trouble understanding that might not be a good fit for Wikipedia. I am an admin. Johnuniq (talk) 05:57, 8 April 2024 (UTC)
- The reason is not self-evident to me. Can you please explain it? I💖平沢唯 (talk) 06:22, 8 April 2024 (UTC)
- No page at Wikipedia is available for trolling victims of harassment regardless of what they or anyone else thinks about it. Please find other topic to work on. Johnuniq (talk) 06:38, 8 April 2024 (UTC)
- But Chris has attracted plenty of media attention outside of being a harassment victim. And besides, Wikipedia has a whole category called "Victims of cyberbullying". I💖平沢唯 (talk) 23:31, 10 April 2024 (UTC)
