Biafra Referendum has recorded 50+million votes till date

Biafra Referendum has recorded 50+million votes till date. Biafrans both in homeland and abroad have voted to exit Nigeria and have given the Biafra Republic Government in exile (BRGIE),the mandate to defend their lives, land and properties. 146.90.5.222 (talk) 18:47, 25 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Who except Ekpa says this? Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 08:14, 29 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
I think the article needs a POV tag for now. Especially since this is a unilateral exercise. Borgenland (talk) 08:54, 29 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Yes, it reads vaguely as an attempt at "This is legit! Really!!" May be seen as an attempt at recreating [1][2][3], though from what I remember, it's not as glaringly bad. Lots of WP:ABOUTSELF, though, written from the POV of Ekpa. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 09:14, 29 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
I previously tagged this article with the Context template, and noted the closest example that came to mind was 2014 Venetian independence referendum. CMD (talk) 09:18, 29 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, there's nothing on what BRGIE is or who Ekpa is. Except, of course, Prime Minister. To me, it reads like the WP:PROMO is strong in this article. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 09:23, 29 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Btw, iirc, Ekpa is a member of the OEAS group, but I don't have a cite for that atm. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 09:25, 29 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Chipmunkdavis thanks for bringing that example for helping me find an NPOV description of whatever this is. Borgenland (talk) 14:26, 29 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Yes. The referendum is not conducted by UN or other official bodies but self-determination process. Not unanimous indeed but unilateral. That's why it's called SELF-referendum. You are right as well @Gråbergs Gråa Sång on the "About self" stuff. The keyword surrounding the article is "SELF". That's all I know. Wår (talk) 16:18, 29 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
I agree, there doesn't seem to be any significant impact of this referendum and the numbers seems completely fabricated — this could be a section on Ekpa's page but the questionable truth and low level of reporting calls the notability into doubt.
