University of Babylon

Babylon University is an Iraqi university located in Hilla, Babil, Iraq, it was established in 1991. The campus of the university is one; and located 7Km. southern Al Hillah city, on the road to Najaf. This campus was the Administrative institute of Babil before using some building of it for the medicine college of Kufa University and then establishing Babil University in 1991.

The university has professional staff of teachers in different studies, and during the middle of the 90's, it experienced the private education night shift. That education was very popular and prefered especially to the rich families and after the change in the difficulty of high school examinations in 1997.

Population of the University Al Hillah, Qassim, Two-way-region, Mussaiyab. Karbala. Babghdad Diwaniya, Kufa and Najaf. Others.

Changes after 2003: Staff: Many education staff were changed due to the law of deba'athification, but no crimes were committeed, also none of them was prosecuted for the fact that they were only members, not responsible of ba'ath duties.

Education: Night shift, the private education was eliminated due to changes in the adminstrationa and financial management.

Location: Some colleges were trnasfered to be out of the main campus like the medicine college. worthmentioning, that this college was planned to be transfered even before 2003 to be near to Al Hillah teaching hospital.

Socity of the Unviersity: Noramlly, the university's society is considered modest, no religon like Kufa Unviersity's society and no modern style like those in Baghdad. The students are less social perception then Baghdad in modern style but more in scientific.

No sectarian ideas or political.

Colleges in separate campuses: Fine Arts Medicine, Dentitstry, Nursing and Pharamacy. Agricultural Sciences. Economic Sciences. Letirature.
