Thomas Henry Hirst was a first class cricketer who played against Somerset CCC for Yorkshire County Cricket Club, in a drawn match at the Circle in Hull, in 1899. He reappeared for Scotland against the Australians in 1905.
He was born on May 21, 1865 in Lockwood, Huddersfield and died on April 3, 1927 in Meltham in the same Yorkshire town.
A right-handed batsman, he scored a total of 66 runs with a best of 33 and 28 in Scotland's draw against the Australians. The Scots survived for over 90 overs in their second innings and managed to survive for the draw with their last wicket pair at the wicket. Hirst took a catch but his right arm fast medium pace failed to take a wicket, while conceding 44 runs. He batted at number 11 in his first game and at number 1 in his second.
