Tim Sheridan, as editor of Allmusic, described the album as a containing "hypnotic rhythms and enigmatic lyrics", and notes that Lindsay's "narcotic delivery is nicely suited to the pictures he paints". The album is recommended in the exclusive "album pick" of the site.
